Make me give 'til it hurts
Over the last few years, Paige and I have become passionate supporters of a Microcredit charity called Opportunity International. We honestly believe it has been changing and will continue to change the world.
So here's how to make me give 'til it hurts:
1. Watch the 3 minute video below.
2. Comment on this post (if it's anonymous, it doesn't count)
3. For every person that leaves a positive comment, I will donate $10 to Opportunity (over what we already give) in order to support this cause.
The video is less than three minutes long, and it simply and effectively communicates the impact of Microcredit, especially when it is focused on women.
I will figure out how much to give on Thursday of next week, before Paige and I head down to our second Opportunity International annual forum down in San Diego. I'll post the donation confirmation so you guys don't accuse me of being a blog-scammer :)
I average about 1 comment per post, so it shouldn't be that painful. Unless, of course, mega-bloggers like DJ, Jasmine or Gary get a hold of it :)
*UPDATE: Our friends Jason and Erin said they would match $ for $ whatever I raise! So, come on guys! Tell your friends!

I hope you don't go broke but I do hope it hurts so good! I LOVED the part about bringing clean water! This is actually possible and people just don't realize how simple and powerful a micro investment can be in someone's life! I'd LOVE to see so much of the excess and wasted gov. spending in the US go to fund some micro business loans to the poor of our own country! That's real change! Keep up the good work! What an amazing opportunity to evoke systemic change by investing in the lives of individuals. I love that the answer lies in the simple things! I am reminded of the weight of my responsibility in my blessing - it is inspiring to see what exponential change can occur through a girl and a cow.

It only takes the resilience of one girl’s fight to set a course for change that could affect the history of a nation, no matter how oppressive this world’s forces may be. In the 1920's against all odds, one woman challenged and revealed the corruption of the L.A.P.D., all because of her persistent strength. You need to tell more about this organization, Deyl.
